Learning Center access, organisation structure links and SDG update

Dimensions Learning Center, now linked from the support menu

You can now open the Dimensions Learning Center directly from the Support menu in the Dimensions web application, so training material is available from the place you are already working rather than through a separate bookmark or email link.

The Learning Center is a self-service training site covering everything from your first search to advanced metadata fields. It includes:

• Content curated by role, with a guide to help you decide where to start.

• Content grouped by experience level.

• A searchable video library and a Dimensions Tips and Tricks page.

• Live training sessions, open to all users. You can register through the events calendar.

New content is added regularly. If you are new to Dimensions, we suggest starting with Getting Started with Dimensions.

View organizational structure from the Analytical Views

See an organization's structure without leaving the Analytical Views. The context menus for Funder and Research Organization entities in the Analytical Views now include a "View organizational structure" link. Selecting it takes you straight to that organization's structure, useful when you're assessing an entity and need to see how it sits relative to parent or child organizations, without restarting your search elsewhere to check.

SDG classifier rollout nearing completion

In July, we announced a retrained Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) classifier. That rollout is now nearly complete.

The 2026 classifier is already live for Datasets, Grants, and Policy Documents. Updates to Publications are ongoing and expected to complete by the end of this week. The Coding Support module and the classify function in the Dimensions API also now use the updated classifier.

What to expect in your data: because this is a retrained model rather than a patch, SDG counts will move. For Publications, 33.4M records will carry an SDG code, up from 20.6M. That net gain of 12.8M comes from 18.2M publications gaining SDG coverage, while 5.4M are no longer classified as the model applies stricter criteria. SDG 8, 9 and 14 see the largest coverage gains, and SDG 7 and 10 are re-scoped for accuracy.
